LVIT & Potentiometer Input Display in Desktop Enclosure

The PMD3XT Single Channel Digital Panel Meter in a desktop enclosure is a high-performance, flexible display solution designed for precise position and process measurement in industrial, laboratory, and testing environments. Engineered for compatibility with LVIT (Linear Variable Inductive Transducer) and linear potentiometer sensors, the PMD3XT provides accurate, real-time data visualization along with advanced alarm, scaling, and control features.

With a bright 5-digit LED display, intuitive front-panel programming, and optional relay and analog output capabilities, the PMD3XT delivers a powerful and user-friendly solution for monitoring linear position and process variables.

Designed for LVIT and Potentiometer Sensor Applications

The PMD3XT is specifically optimized for use with:

  • LVIT linear position sensors

  • Linear potentiometer position sensors

This makes it an ideal display solution for:

  • Position measurement systems

  • Test stands and laboratory setups

  • Industrial automation and process monitoring

  • Motion and displacement tracking

The unit is plug-and-play compatible with HGSI/Alliance Sensors LVIT and potentiometer product lines, simplifying integration and reducing setup time.

Desktop Enclosure for Flexible Installation

Unlike traditional panel-mounted displays, this version of the PMD3XT is housed in a durable desktop enclosure, providing:

  • Easy benchtop operation

  • Portable measurement capability

  • Quick integration into test environments

  • No panel cutout required

The enclosure dimensions (~2.9" H x 6.3" W x 9.8" D) make it compact yet stable for use in laboratory and industrial settings.

Bright, High-Visibility LED Display

The PMD3XT features a large, high-contrast LED display:

  • 5-digit display with ±99999 range

  • 0.56 inch (14 mm) digit height

  • Red LED for excellent visibility

The display is easy to read from a distance, making it suitable for both close-up laboratory use and industrial environments. As noted in the datasheet, the display updates multiple times per second for real-time feedback.

High Accuracy and Fast Sampling Performance

The PMD3XT is designed for precise measurement and fast response:

  • Accuracy: ±0.1% of full scale

  • A/D resolution: 16-bit

  • Sampling rate: 60 samples per second

  • Display update rate: ~3.5 times per second

This ensures accurate, stable readings even in dynamic applications where signals change rapidly.

Flexible Input Compatibility

The PMD3XT supports a wide range of analog inputs, making it adaptable to many sensor types:

  • ±5 VDC, 0–5 VDC

  • ±10 VDC, 0–10 VDC

  • 4–20 mA

This flexibility allows the meter to be used not only with LVIT and potentiometer sensors, but also with a variety of process signals.

Intuitive Front Panel Programming

Setup and configuration of the PMD3XT are simple and user-friendly:

  • Front-panel keypad for programming

  • Easy scaling from inches to millimeters or custom units

  • Adjustable decimal point positioning

  • Quick calibration and setup

As highlighted in the datasheet, configuration is designed to be intuitive, allowing users to quickly tailor the display to their application.

Max/Min Tracking and Peak Hold Functions

The PMD3XT includes built-in measurement tracking features:

  • Maximum (peak) value recall

  • Minimum (valley) value recall

  • Dedicated buttons for viewing stored values

These features are especially useful in:

  • Motion analysis

  • Testing and validation

  • Monitoring system limits

High and Low Alarm Setpoints with Relay Outputs
