Overview of GBP & GBT series LVDT Position Sensors

The GBP & GBT series of spring loaded linear position sensors from Harold G. Schaevitz Industries offer reliable long-life operation utilizing LVDT linear variable differential transformer technology.

LVDT’s are a popular type of electromechanical transducer that convert the linear motion of an object to which it is coupled into a corresponding electrical signal that is proportional to the change in stroke.

GBP & GBT series LVDTs are versatile devices that are used in a wide range of commercial and industrial gauging applications, including dimensional gauging of machined parts, gap distance measurement, and manufacturing process control. 

GBP & GBT series LVDTs are spring loaded for ease of measuring an object that cannot be mechanically coupled to the sensor and include a 2 meter long Integral Cable.

They are commonly referred to as “pencil probes” due to their small diameter bodies.

The GBP-315 has a smooth 0.315 inch (8 mm) O.D. stainless steel body.
The GBP-375 has a smooth 0.375 inch (9.5 mm) O.D. stainless steel body.
The GBT-375 has a 0.375 inch (9.5 mm) O.D. stainless steel body that is threaded with 3/8”-40 fine thread.

GBP & GBT series LVDTs are available in measuring ranges from +/- 0.040 inches (+/- 1 mm) up to +/- 0.200 inches (+/- 5 mm).
